This Privacy Policy explains how iCameraPlus ("we", "the app") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our application and related services. By using iCameraPlus, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address — used for account creation and login
- Password — stored encrypted with bcrypt, never in plain text
- Optional display name
Usage Data
- Video recordings created and uploaded to your private archive
- Application activity logs (recording start/stop, errors)
- Subscription status managed via Apple App Store or Google Play
Device Permissions
- Camera — required for video recording. Used only when you actively start a recording.
- Microphone — required for audio recording alongside video. Used only during active recording.
- Internet — required to upload recordings to your private archive and to authenticate your account.
- Foreground Service — required to keep recording running while the app is in the background.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — required to show the recording status notification.
We do not access your camera or microphone for any purpose other than recording video at your explicit request.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide access to your private cloud archive
- To upload and store your video recordings securely
- To send account-related emails (verification, expiry notices)
- To manage your subscription through Apple or Google
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the service.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your video recordings and logs are stored on a private server hosted at icameraplus.com (IONOS VPS, EU). Access is protected by secure JWT tokens — only you can access your data. All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
We do
not:
- Sell your personal data or recordings
- Share your data with third parties
- Use your recordings for any purpose other than storage and retrieval by you
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your recordings are stored until you delete them or close your account
- Each account has a storage quota (20 GB). When the quota is reached, the oldest recordings are automatically removed
- If your subscription expires, your data is retained for 30 days then permanently deleted
- You can request full account and data deletion at any time by contacting us at icamatrixsys@gmail.com
6. Subscriptions
iCameraPlus offers a 7-day free trial followed by an annual subscription. Subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). We do not store any payment or card information. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store settings.
7. Children's Privacy
iCameraPlus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

9. Intended Use
iCameraPlus is designed to allow users to repurpose their own mobile devices as security cameras for their own property. The app is intended solely for lawful use by the device owner. Recording individuals without their knowledge or consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. We do not condone or support any unlawful surveillance.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
