Privacy Policy — iCameraPlus

This Privacy Policy explains how iCameraPlus ("we", "the app") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our application and related services. By using iCameraPlus, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Account Information

• Email address — used for account creation and login
• Password — stored encrypted with bcrypt, never in plain text
• Optional display name

Usage Data

• Video recordings created and uploaded to your private archive
• Application activity logs (recording start/stop, errors)
• Subscription status managed via Apple App Store or Google Play
• Live video and audio streamed in real time when you start a live view from the web — on demand and viewable only by you
• Remote commands you send from the web (start/stop recording, switch camera, change quality)
• Device information shown in your archive: device model, OS and app version, battery level, available storage, network type, language and time zone
• A device identifier (such as Android ID) used only to recognize your camera across reinstalls and prevent duplicate entries — never for advertising or cross-app tracking

Device Permissions

• Camera — required for video recording. Used only when you actively start a recording.
• Microphone — optional; used only if you turn on audio recording, and only during active recording. You can record video without audio.
• Internet — required to upload recordings to your private archive and to authenticate your account.
• Foreground Service — required to keep recording running while the app is in the background.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — required to show the recording status notification.

We do not access your camera or microphone for any purpose other than recording video at your explicit request.

• To upload and store your video recordings securely
• To send account-related emails (verification, expiry notices)
• To manage your subscription through Apple or Google

We do not use your recordings for advertising or profiling. Our public website uses analytics and advertising cookies only with your consent — see the Cookie Policy.

Your video recordings and logs are stored on our private server (IONOS VPS, EU). All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption, and access requires a secure JWT token tied to your account.

Your recordings are private to your account. Our authorised personnel do not access your recordings except where strictly necessary to operate or repair the Service, to act on a support request you make, for safety, or to comply with a legal obligation.

We never sell your personal data or recordings, and never use your recordings for advertising or profiling. We share data only with service providers ("sub-processors") that help us run the Service, under contract and only as needed:

• IONOS (Germany, EU) — hosting of recordings and databases
• Apple / Google — subscription processing and app delivery
• Google Analytics & Google Ads — website analytics/advertising, loaded on our public website only with your cookie consent (see our Cookie Policy)
• an email delivery provider — for account and notification emails

Some providers are located in the USA; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.

iCameraPlus offers a 7-day free trial followed by an annual subscription. Subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). We do not store any payment or card information. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store settings.

iCameraPlus is not directed at children as users. If you use the app to record a child (for example as a baby monitor), you do so as the child's parent or guardian and are responsible for that child's personal data. In the EU/EEA the digital age of consent is 16 (or lower where a member state sets it, e.g. 15 in France; 13 in the US under COPPA). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)
• Lodge a complaint with your data-protection supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at icamatrixsys@gmail.com; we will respond within 30 days. You can also delete your account and all associated data yourself in the app (Settings → Delete account).

iCameraPlus is designed to allow users to repurpose their own mobile devices as security cameras for their own property. The app is intended solely for lawful use by the device owner. Recording individuals without their knowledge or consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. We do not condone or support any unlawful surveillance.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
