How does the free trial work? Do you need my card?
Your 7-day free trial starts the moment you register in the app with your email and confirm the address. We never ask for a card, and the trial does not turn into a paid subscription by itself. When it ends, the phone keeps recording, but cloud upload and the web archive pause until you subscribe.
What does it cost, and what is the retention pool?
There are four yearly plans: 2, 4, 6 and 8 cameras. Each camera keeps its last 10 days (at the standard HD 720p quality), and the plan works as a pool (number of cameras × 10 days). Use fewer cameras and each one keeps more: a single camera on the 8-camera plan keeps 80 days. The oldest recordings are deleted automatically. Current prices are in the Pricing section of the home page; payment goes through the App Store or Google Play.
How do I set up an Android phone as a 24/7 camera?
Keep the phone on the charger and on Wi-Fi, then press REC in the app. Turn off battery optimisation for iCameraPlus (Settings → Battery); on Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung also allow "autostart" or "run in background". Recording continues while the screen is dimmed. After a restart (for example when the battery ran flat), Android 7–10 resumes recording by itself if battery optimisation is off and no screen lock (PIN/pattern) is set; on Android 11 and newer an iCameraPlus notification appears and recording continues only after someone taps it — so keep notifications allowed. If a recording camera goes silent, we e-mail you.
On iPhone, recording stops when the screen locks — what should I do?
iOS does not allow the camera to run in the background, so the app records only while it is in the foreground. Turn on Protected Mode (Apple's Guided Access): iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access → On, set a passcode, then triple-click the side button while the app is open. The power button is disabled and recording is not interrupted. The Protected Mode wizard in the app walks you through each step.
What is the touch lock? Can recording stop by accident?
On Android the screen locks itself 15 seconds after recording starts, so stray taps cannot stop it. To unlock, double-tap the 🔒 button or hold it for 2 seconds. You can also lock and unlock from the web panel. On iPhone, Protected Mode does the same job.
How do I watch my camera live?
Sign in at icameraplus.com/login and press Watch Live next to your camera; the stream takes a few seconds to appear. The phone must be on, online and have the app in the foreground (Protected Mode on iPhone). You can watch while it records and open several cameras at once.
How do I download a recording to my phone or computer?
Open the clip in the web archive and press Download in the player; the MP4 file goes to your browser's download folder (on iPhone Safari, to Files → Downloads). This is how you hand a moment to the police or your insurer.
Can I watch from the phone I use every day? (Viewer mode)
Yes. Install the app on your everyday phone, choose Viewer mode at start and sign in with the same email. That phone does not record; it shows your cameras, the live view and the archive, and sends remote commands. Several viewers can use one account.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Delete my account. The account is deactivated at once and all data is permanently erased 30 days later; signing in within the first 3 days cancels the request. Without the app, follow the steps at icameraplus.com/delete-account. Remember to cancel your store subscription separately in the App Store or Google Play.
Where are my recordings stored, and for how long?
In the European Union: our server is in Germany (IONOS) and long-term storage is Backblaze B2 (EU-Central). Transfers are encrypted with HTTPS/TLS and recordings are visible only from your account. Retention follows your plan's pool (10 days per camera, shared); older recordings are deleted automatically. The 10 days apply to the standard 720p quality: 1080p clips take up more space, so with cameras recording in 1080p your account's storage limit can be reached sooner, and the oldest recordings are then deleted earlier. 1080p is optional; the default and recommended quality is HD 720p. If your subscription ends, your plan stays unchanged for 28 days: renew within that time and everything still in your archive is kept. Meanwhile the usual automatic deletion of the oldest recordings continues, and uploads pause after 14 days (new clips wait on the phone).
What happens when the internet drops?
Recording continues on the phone without interruption; clips are queued on the device and uploaded automatically when the connection returns. Live view and remote commands do not work in the meantime. Note: by default, videos upload only over Wi-Fi. If the camera has mobile data only, its clips wait on the phone — allow uploads over mobile data in the app settings, or set the upload network to "Wi-Fi + mobile" in the web panel.

How do I update the app?
Updating pauses recording for a few minutes; keep the phone on the charger and on Wi-Fi. Android: unlock the touch lock (double-tap the screen or hold for 2 s) → stop recording with ■ → close the app from Recent apps → Google Play → profile icon → Manage apps & device → iCameraPlus → Update → open the app → start recording with ●. iPhone: if Protected Mode is on, triple-click the side button, enter the passcode and tap End → unlock the touch lock → stop recording with ■ → close the app → App Store → profile → iCameraPlus → Update → open the app → start recording with ● → turn Protected Mode back on. Last step: check in the web panel that the camera shows online and recording. Your camera name and settings are kept; the old version keeps working after a new release, so there is no rush.
